Mapúa University and Mapúa MCL soar in global QS Rankings
Two Mapúa schools, Mapúa University and Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (Mapúa MCL) continue to elevate Philippine higher education on the global stage, securing impressive rankings in the latest QS Sustainability Rankings and QS Stars ratings. The prestigious QS Stars evaluate institutions globally based on a range of criteria, including academic reputation, faculty quality, research impact, and internationalization, as well as environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance for QS Sustainability.

This year, Mapúa University has again positioned itself, jumping from 1201+ in 2024 to 1141-1160 for the QS Sustainability Rankings 2025. This significant leap highlights the university’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and ethical governance as an institution for people and planet.
Since 2010, Mapúa has earnestly paved the way to contribute to sustainable development, locally and globally, through education. One notable example is integration of sustainability principles into various undergraduate programs across different disciplines. In 2023, Mapúa pioneered a groundbreaking BS Energy Engineeringprogram, designed to cultivate future leaders in sustainable energy solutions.
Reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and innovation, Mapúa also climbed from 601+ to 561-580 in the latest QS Asia Rankings, solidifying its position as one of the top institutions in the region.
In line with this success, one of its subsidiaries, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (Mapúa MCL) also reached significant milestones, earning an overall rating of 3 stars from the QS Stars Rating 2024. According to QS, this prestigious rating is awarded to institutions that deliver quality teaching, prepare graduates for professional setting, actively adhere to international education standards, engage in innovative research, and explore new teaching methods.
Mapúa MCL first received its 3 QS Stars Overall rating in 2020, along with 5 Stars for Employability, and 4 Stars for Facilities. This year, the institution retained its overall rating of 3 QS Stars and Employability 5-Star rating while receiving 5 Stars for two (2) more categories: Online Learning and Social Responsibility.
