Heritage and High Fashion Converge: NUSTAR Online Partners with MNL Fashion Week to Champion Filipino Design and Textiles

NUSTAR Online proudly announces its partnership with MNL Fashion Week (Manila Fashion Week), reaffirming its commitment to supporting Filipino creativity, design, and textiles on a global stage.
“As a brand built on sophistication and innovation, NUSTAR Online recognizes that true luxury is not only about indulgence, but also about championing creativity and culture. It is found in authenticity and artistry,” said Krizia Cortez, Director of Public Relations at NUSTAR Online. “This partnership with MNL Fashion Week allows us to elevate Filipino designers and our distinct textiles on a global stage, ensuring our heritage as well as the creatives who shape our cultural identity are recognized and receive the spotlight they deserve.”

MNL Fashion Week marks its new chapter with a renewed push for Filipino identity in fashion and textiles. Partnering with the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI), this year’s designers will incorporate locally developed fabrics like piña, piña blends, and other local textiles and fabrics into contemporary ready-to-wear collections. This initiative underscores a shared vision: to redefine Filipino identity in fashion and prove its global relevance.
“Something Filipino doesn’t always have to be a terno or a barong,” John Lozano, founder of MNL Fashion Week, explained. “Even a leather jacket can be distinctly Filipino if it’s crafted by Filipino hands and Filipino fabrics. MNL Fashion Week is about showing the world that Filipino fashion is both authentic and modern — rooted in tradition, yet ready for the future.”
The inaugural Manila Fashion Week will feature eight shows across four days, staged at SM Aura’s Samsung Hall and a custom-built Fashion Week Tent. Each show will offer a distinct set design and atmosphere, creating a fully immersive experience for guests. Beyond the runway, the event will also feature lounges, interactive vignettes, and other experiential activations — all designed to make Fashion Week as inspiring as it is accessible.

For Manila Fashion Week, the collaboration reflects the collective strength of the industry. “For years, we dreamed of a platform where Filipino designers could share their stories and their vision. It takes more than a village — it takes an entire town to mount something of this scale,” John said. “With the support of partners like NUSTAR Online, we can finally show the world that the Philippines is more than just its beautiful beaches. Fashion is here, and it’s ready for the global spotlight.”
Together, NUSTAR Online and MNL Fashion Week are not only elevating Filipino fashion — they are shaping a movement that unites design, culture, and national pride.
