Ragnarok Origin Classic Delivers on Its Launch Promise with [Sakura Vows] Update

While many MMORPGs continue to drive revenue through pay-to-win stat boosts with every update, Ragnarok Origin Classic (ROOC), published by Gravity Game Vision, has chosen a very different path.

Launching on April 24, the new “Sakura Vows” update introduces a full marriage system, limited-time social gameplay, and a brand-new server, <Sakura Vows>. The new update puts social experiences first and Gravity Game Vision is proud to share that , none of the new content is tied to power or stat progression.

From day one, ROOC has stood by its promise of “grow with Monthly Pass only” and the design philosophy behind this update is a direct extension of that promise. Marriage, one of the most socially driven systems in MMORPGs, has been brought back to its roots: you get married because you want to adventure together, and not because it gives you extra stats.

Ragnarok Origin Classic’s Sakura Vows update brings three wedding-themed outfits that  offer identical stats, with the most basic ceremony, the “Eternal Contract” costs only 999,999 Eden Coins. Proving that romance is no longer locked behind premium currency or top-ups.

While other games push time-limited wedding bundles to create spending pressure, ROOC ensures that every adventurer can afford to get married. This isn’t just a feature update,it’s a public statement reaffirming the game’s core values.

Three Wedding Tiers: Style Over Stats

The “Sakura Vows” system offers three ceremony tiers, each with its own level of visual flair and atmosphere. However, one principle remains unchanged: all rewards are equal in power, spending more doesn’t make you stronger.

Eternal Contract Wedding – A truly accessible option. For just 999,999 Eden Coins, players can exchange vows and receive the Eternal Contract outfit along with a confession gift. A clear message from the developers: romance doesn’t require a credit card.

Sakura Oath Wedding – Features a dedicated wedding venue setup and a full ceremonial animation. Rewards include the Sakura Oath outfit and a limited-time “Sakura Lux Car” mount. Bigger spectacle, same stats.

Beyond the Stars Wedding – The most luxurious ceremony, complete with grand animations, Beyond the Stars outfit, a limited-time “Starry Night Car” mount, and an exclusive portrait. The difference lies purely in presentation and collectibility, not power.

A new “Wedding Renewal” feature has also been added, allowing married couples to host their ceremony again at minimal cost, inviting guildmates and friends to relive the moment. The intent is clear: marriage isn’t a one-time purchase, but a social milestone worth celebrating again and again.

Beyond Marriage: A Social Experience Without Pressure

The “Sakura Vows” update goes far beyond the marriage system. The entire version is built around a stress-free, socially driven experience that’s readily available to everyone in the game.

Prontera is fully transformed into a cherry blossom-themed city, creating a seasonal, immersive atmosphere.

“Out Loud Confession” feature that  lets you  broadcast your feelings to someone special.

“Rainbow Covenant” is a co-op quest with your duo and test your in-game chemistry.

“MBTI Oracle” system, an MBTI-style personality test, generating unique titles and matchmaking suggestions.

Complete event activities and log in for 15 days to earn exclusive cosmetics like the Sakura Headwear.

In addition, a dedicated event page is now live on the official website. Participate before May 31 to earn romantic rewards, with the grand prize being the “Sakura Spring” Backwear.

More content is on the way: April 27 will introduce the matchmaking feature “Love Potion” and a new PvE challenge, “Sakura Spirit”, keeping the update fresh with ongoing content.

When “Player-First” Becomes Part of the Game’s DNA

Looking back at the “Sakura Vows” update, what stands out isn’t just the marriage system, it’s the philosophy behind it.

Since launch, producer Big Kitty has maintained open communication through public letters, sharing development direction and transparently discussing future plans. Player feedback is actively incorporated into ongoing updates, creating a highly collaborative development process. This level of transparency has allowed players to genuinely feel the team’s respect for the Ragnarok IP and their commitment to delivering a better player experience.

“Sakura Vows” isn’t just another patch. It’s another promise kept proof that the principles set at launch are not short-term strategies, but long-term commitments.

As the cherry blossoms bloom, are you ready to take someone’s hand and begin a story that’s uniquely yours?
