RCBC champions financial freedom on Independence Day
Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) joined forces with the Social Security System (SSS) in celebrating the 128th Philippine Independence Day through a series of public engagement activities promoting financial inclusion, digital empowerment, and economic participation.
At the center of the collaboration was the MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech, a pioneering three-in-one phygital (physical-digital) solution designed to help digitally and financially onboard the more than 42 million members of the SSS. The initiative supported the shared goal of expanding access to formal financial services and narrowing the gap between the banked and unbanked sectors of the population.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, SSS joined in the Kalayaan Government Programs and Services (Kalayaan GPS) event held on June 6 and 7 at Rizal Park, Manila. The government-led initiative brought together a wide range of public services, including Klinikalayaan2026: Serbisyong Kalusugan para sa Bayan, Kadiwa ng Pangulo, and the Diskwento Caravan.

During the two-day event, SSS mounted a public information booth where Filipinos were introduced to the MySSS platform and its growing suite of digital services. RCBC supported the initiative by promoting the MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech, which can be requested through the MySSS portal and completed through the DiskarTech app.
The Independence Day activities continued from June 12 to 14 at Plaza Yuchengco in Escolta, Manila, where RCBC highlighted the benefits of the MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech through a special public activation.
Visitors were invited to take selfies with the campaign standee for a chance to be among 128 winners of RCBC DiskarTech account credits. A total of 120 winners will receive PHP 128 each, while eight (8) lucky winners will receive PHP 1,280 each. Complete promo mechanics were shared on the RCBC DiskarTech Facebook page.

Lito Villanueva, Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer of RCBC, said public engagements such as these help broaden conversations around financial resilience and economic opportunity for every Filipino.
“As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we are reminded that financial freedom is an equally important aspiration for millions of Filipinos. Through initiatives such as the MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech, we aim to make financial services more accessible, relevant, and empowering for every Filipino, wherever they may be,” Villanueva said.
He added that the country’s workforce, from professionals and entrepreneurs to overseas Filipino workers and everyday wage earners, deserves access to financial tools that can help them build a more secure future.
“Our modern-day heroes work tirelessly to provide better lives for their families. They deserve financial solutions that are simple, inclusive, and accessible. By bringing together the reach of SSS and the innovation of RCBC DiskarTech, we are helping more Filipinos save, transact, access benefits, and participate meaningfully in the digital economy,” Villanueva added.
Launched in 2025, the MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech combines social security, banking, and payments functionality in a single card. Through RCBC’s extensive digital ecosystem, nationwide ATM network, and ATM Go terminals serving all 82 provinces across the country, cardholders enjoy convenient access to financial services while strengthening their overall financial well-being.
As the nation commemorates 128 years of independence, RCBC reaffirms its commitment to helping Filipinos achieve greater financial inclusion, resilience, and opportunity, empowering more citizens to turn their aspirations into reality.
