AY Foundation Steps Up for Batangas Families with New Homes
AY Foundation, the community outreach arm of the Yuchengco Group of Companies, has partnered with GawadKalinga (GK) to build eight homes for underprivileged families in GK Agoncillo, Batangas. Construction officially began on January 15, 2026, with a target completion date of September 15, 2026.The project is part of a broader effort to provide safe and decent housing for Filipino families supported by GK, helping them build better lives and stronger communities.
The initiative received a significant boost from Malayan Insurance Co. Inc (MICO), the leading non-life insurance company in the Philippines. During its 95th anniversary celebration, Malayan Insurance gathered funds in support of the AY Foundation’s housing efforts, raising approximately ₱2 million pesos dedicated to this cause.
According to the latest progress report, construction is well underway. Six of the eight houses have reached the beam stage, while the other two are about 25% complete. Central to the GK model is the active participation of the Kapitbahayan, the community members who will become homeowners. The Kapitbahayan have been actively contributing to the project on a daily basis. Values formation sessions for the Kapitbahayan are also currently ongoing as part of GK’s holistic community development approach.
The AY Foundation and GK Agoncillo project reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to improving the lives of Filipino families through safe housing and community empowerment.
