Books for a Cause: Read, Give, and Make a Difference

At Savoy Hotel Manila, we believe that books are more than just ink on paper — they are bridges to knowledge, inspiration, and endless possibilities.

For the third year, we are proud to continue our partnership with Books for a Cause, a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting and distributing books to underprivileged communities, public schools, libraries, and literacy programs across the country. Founded by Mr. Ramil Sumingil, the group has made a lasting impact by ensuring that learning materials reach those who need them most.

This collaboration is deeply aligned with one of the key pillars of our MEGreen Sustainability Program — People. Our mission under this pillar is to shape communities through meaningful initiatives, becoming responsible citizens who support causes that enrich lives. By regularly hosting Book Donation Drives, we aim to provide children, students, and lifelong learners with the tools to grow, dream, and create better futures for themselves.

The most recent turnover of collected books was a heartfelt moment, as stacks of donations were handed to Mr. Sumingil, who expressed his gratitude for the hotel’s consistent support. He shared how these contributions have already sparked change in many communities, with every book finding its way into eager hands and curious minds.

Savoy Hotel Manila’s General Manager, Den Navarro, reflected on the initiative, saying:
