Leading the triumphant charge is track-and-field standout Chrishia Mae Tajarros from Tanauan National High School. Representing Eastern Visayas, Tajarros captured the very first gold medal of the 2026 Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur by successfully defending her crown in the secondary girls’ 3,000-meter athletics event. In an extraordinary display of regional dominance, her schoolmate Angel Lumacang crossed the finish line right behind her to claim the silver medal, securing an unforgettable 1-2 podium sweep for Leyte.
